Dr Heidi Chin is an Endorsed Podiatrist who graduated from the University of Western Australia (UWA) as part of the inaugural cohort of the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine program within the Faculty of Medicine, representing a new generation of evidence-based podiatric practitioners. As an endorsed podiatrist, she is qualified to prescribe scheduled medicines relevant to podiatric practice, providing patients with a broader range of treatment options when clinically indicated.
She remains committed to ongoing professional development and is an active member of the UWA Podiatric Medicine Association.
Her academic achievements include receiving the UWA School of Surgery Research Scholarship and the UWA Prize for Podiatric Research, recognising her contributions to advancing podiatric knowledge and patient care.
Dr Chin has collaborated with a leading footwear company on research investigating gait and plantar pressure patterns, further strengthening her expertise in biomechanics, movement analysis, and orthotic therapy.
She brings extensive clinical experience across both public and private healthcare settings, including Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Bentley Hospital, diabetes and chronic disease management services, multidisciplinary high-risk foot and ulcer clinics, and sports podiatry practices. Her work has involved close collaboration with vascular surgeons, orthopaedic specialists, endocrinologists, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Passionate about community health, Dr Chin regularly contributes to local events, volunteers her expertise, and mentors University of Western Australia podiatry students. She is also a founding member of Perth's Child Health Network.
With a strong interest in strength and conditioning, Dr Chin enjoys weight training and understands the important role that movement, exercise, and physical activity play in long-term health and performance.
With many years of experience treating musculoskeletal and lower limb conditions, Dr Heidi Chin has developed a comprehensive skill set focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and improving movement.
Her clinical expertise encompasses the assessment and management of a wide range of foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions, including plantar heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, sports injuries, overuse injuries, joint pain, and biomechanical dysfunction.
Dr Chin incorporates evidence-based dry needling, acupuncture techniques, manual therapies, soft tissue mobilisation, and exercise-based rehabilitation into her treatment approach. By combining hands-on therapies with a thorough understanding of biomechanics and movement patterns, she is able to address both symptoms and the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction.
Having worked across hospital, sports, and private practice settings, Dr Chin brings extensive experience in managing patients of all ages and activity levels—from elite athletes seeking performance optimisation to individuals looking to return to comfortable daily activities.
In addition, she is certified in Bio Sculpture Gel application, KeryFlex cosmetic nail restoration and ONYFIX application, enabling her to offer advanced solutions for patients seeking both medical and aesthetic nail care.

With extensive experience across Western Australia's leading tertiary hospitals and a longstanding commitment to teaching the future podiatry profession at the University of Western Australia, Professor Hugo offers a level of expertise that is rarely found in a single practitioner.
Associate Professor Burke Hugo is a highly respected Podiatric Surgeon and Specialist Podiatrist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of foot and ankle conditions. He completed his surgical training at the University of Western Australia, specialising in foot and ankle surgery, and has dedicated his career to delivering advanced, evidence-based care across both surgical and non-surgical treatment pathways.
Associate Professor Hugo has extensive clinical experience across Western Australia's tertiary hospital system, where he has worked alongside multidisciplinary teams managing complex foot and ankle conditions, diabetic foot complications, wound care, infections, trauma, and high-risk patients. This breadth of experience allows him to provide comprehensive care ranging from routine podiatric concerns through to complex surgical cases.
In addition to his private clinical practice, Associate Professor Hugo serves as Head of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the University of Western Australia and is Vice President of the Australian Association of Podiatric Surgeons. As an Associate Professor, he plays a pivotal role in educating and mentoring the next generation of podiatrists and podiatric surgeons, helping to shape the future of the profession through teaching, research, and clinical leadership.
As both a Specialist Podiatrist and Podiatric Surgeon, Associate Professor Hugo is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive care for a broad range of foot and ankle conditions. His areas of expertise include ingrown toenails, bunions, hammer and claw toe deformities, neuromas, painful soft tissue and bony lesions, wound management, foot infections, and prescription medication management, including antibiotic therapy where clinically indicated.
Patients do not require a referral to seek treatment, and many private health insurance providers offer rebates for eligible consultations and surgical procedures.
